The TIGULLIO GULF is a paradise that encompasses many characteristic towns of the Liguria region, such as PORTOFINO, SANTA MARGHERITA, SAN FRUTTUOSO and the enchanting SESTRI LEVANTE.
One can find mountains overlooking the sea, fantastic beaches, footpaths for walks, and cities like GENOVA to experience both culture and art.
For those who want to appreciate our coastal inlets from the sea, one can take a boat to cities located in the CINQUE TERRE NATIONAL PARK, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, for those who are passionate about trekking, one can hike the Cinque Terre as well, observing the colors of the sea, the silence of nature, and the fragrant scent of flowers in all seasons.
Guided scuba diving is available in many locales to visit underwater sites such as Cristo degli Abissi (“Christ of the Abyss”).

In the nearby COUNTRYSIDE, about 2 hours from CASA AQUARELA, one will find the VAL D’AVETO (AVETO VALLEY). In the summer, one can enjoy trekking and hiking, hunting for mushrooms, or go trout fishing in lakes such as LAKE GIACOPIANE or LAKE LAME. In the winter, the MONTE BUE ski area welcomes you to enjoy a day in the snow.
Only 20 minutes from Casa Aquarela is the FONTANA BUONA VALLEY, famous for being a fiefdom of the powerful FIESCHI family dynasty. In fact, just below Casa Aquarela lies a walking path to the BASILICA OF THE FIESCHI, built in 1244 by POPE INNOCENT IV. The Valley is also well known for its many operational slate quarries.

GENOVA, with its PORTO ANTICO, l’AQUARIUM, historic buildings and museums is only 30 kilometers from Casa Aquarela.
